BHOPAL: A video showing four on-duty policemen sleeping on a patient’s bed and even urinating in a dustbin inside the district hospital has led to their suspension in Sidhi, Madhya Pradesh.A video surfaced on social media on April 13, purportedly showing heavily drunk policemen indulging in acts unbecoming of police force. Their uniforms were visible hanging nearby.The policemen were deployed to guard an undertrial prisoner, admitted to the district hospitalon March 28. The team led by assistant sub-inspector Narmada Prasad Prajapati had constables Udayraj Singh, Jitendra Singh and Manish Tiwari.An internal inquiry confirmed their misconduct occurred under the influence of alcohol. The probe also pointed to a lack of proper supervision by the officer-incharge.Sidhi police suspended all the policemen for gross indiscipline, negligence of duty, and damaging the reputation of the police force.During the suspension period, they have been attached to the reserve centre in Sidhi and instructed to follow departmental procedures.
