AGRA: A 35-year-old man allegedly shot himself dead with an illegal firearm in Hathras district on Wednesday morning after an argument with his wife over being woken up early, police said Thursday. The incident took place at Rampur Jattari village in Sikandrarao area.The deceased farmer, Lalu Singh, is survived by his wife Asha Devi, six-year-old son Aarav and one-year-old daughter Aarohi.According to his family, Lalu was in the habit of waking up around 8am daily. On Wednesday, his wife woke him around 5am to help open a “locked” kitchen gate while she was preparing to send their son to school.It led to a heated argument between Lalu and his wife, and he allegedly assaulted her. After sending son to school, the woman prepared tea for Lalu. Around 7am, Lalu drank tea and called his brother-in-law. During the phone conversation, he told him that “it was their last talk, he was leaving” and asked him to “take care of his sister”.Moments later, he went inside a room and locked the door. Family members then heard a gunshot. His wife raised an alarm, drawing neighbours to the house. Police were informed. Once they forced their way into the room, Lalu was found lying on the bed in a pool of blood, with a country-made pistol next to him.
