Padmavati is an upcoming Indian film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and jointly produced by Bhansali and Viacom. The film features Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmini and Ranveer Singh played a negative role as sultan Alauddin khilji and Shahid Kapoor played a role is maharawal ratan singh.

The real story behind Rani Padmini: Rani Padmini is the queen of Mewar famously known as padmavathi she is 13th to the 14th-century queen. Padmavati was one of the most beautiful princesses of the Singhal kingdom(Sri Lanka).

Padmini (Deepika) used to have a pet parrot named Hiraman which was her best friend. Her father ordered to kill the parrot because of closeness. Alauddin Khilji(Ranbeer), the sultan of Delhi also who also learned about the beauty of Padmavati attacked Chittor obtain her. Ratan Singh was killed in a combat with Devpal, The king of Kumbhainer who was also enamored with Padmavati’s beauty.

Before Mughal ruler Khilji could take Chittoor, Padmavati and her companions commit Jauhar which means committing mass suicide to protect their honor. There are many subsequent adaptions of the history characterized her as a Hindu Rajput queen. She was portraited as a queen who defended her honor against a Muslim invader. Over years, Padmavati Characterization was adopted as a historical figure. She was mentioned in several novels, plays, television serials, and movies. However, The historical event of Alauddin Khalji’s in 1303 CE is a historical event. the legend of Padmini has the little historical basis, a lot of modern historians rejected its authenticity.
